An honored graduate of the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ayal studied Film Scoring and Composition under respected industry professionals. His pieces have been performed at the prestigious Kalistos Chamber Orchestra concert, the Society of Composers concert, and were also presented in a unique concert of original compositions performed by esteemed Boston Conservatory and Berklee musicians.

Ayal was born and raised in a small village in Israel’s south coast, where he worked on village farms as he learned to play the guitar. As he grew up, Ayal listened to many musical styles and played with several local Israeli bands. Like most Israelis, at the age of 18 he went to the Army and served 3 years in the artillery forces, where he held commander and instructor positions.

After 3 years of intense Army life, he moved to Tel Aviv and studied in Israel’s top music school – Rimon. In Rimon, he delved deeper into the guitar, studied both classical and modern composition, and explored the piano and orchestral instruments. He regularly took part as a composer, guitarist and producer in Rimon’s concerts and music competition’s finals, and in his graduation concert he conducted an orchestra playing his original music for a short film while it is screened in front of an audience.

After graduating, Ayal threw himself into Israel’s music scene. He co-founded and led The Spinning Wheels, a ten piece funk-rock band and was also lead guitarist and co-arranger in other Jazz and Rock groups. During this time, he performed around Israel in some of the country’s renowned venues, festivals and theaters such as Camellot, Tmuna, Enav Center, Eilat’s “Woodstock” festival and the “Guitar in the Desert” festival. He was asked to compose, arrange and produce many projects, and his critically acclaimed pieces were performed by some of the best players in Israel such as Zahi Solski, Itamar Zorman and the Erato Trio.

Ayal also taught advanced guitar and ensemble classes in popular Israeli music schools and collaborated with the Ramat Gan Symphony Orchestra as assistant conductor and co-producer.

In 2009 Ayal was awarded a scholarship by the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where he earned a bachelor degree in Film Scoring, and graduated Magana Cum Laude. While at Berklee, Ayal composed prolifically, writing dozens of pieces, scores and songs for short films and concerts.

With moving to Los Angeles, Ayal continued to focus his energy and passion for film score composition on a daily basis, writing for TV shows, films and various projects. Along with his studio work, he performed live funk and jazz music in L.A. venues such as Riviera 31, Next Door Lounge, Fais Do Do and Victorios, and also worked as a musical director and instructor. In his free time Ayal hikes in the nearby mountains, practices yoga, playes a game of basketball and rests by the sea.
